I've been singing "Chronic - what - cles of Narnia" since Sunday morning. I thought the Spelling Bee sketch was great too. Kristen Wiig's performance in Two A-Holes Buying a Christmas Tree was quite good, altough the sketch as a whole wasn't. This was the first SNL I've watched in a couple years, but it sounds like 2 1/2 good sketches is the best they've done in longer than that.
"You can call us Aaron Burr from the way we're dropping Hamiltons." = SNL perfection. And that's something I honestly haven't seen in years. Get more of these guys on the show!
Nice find! I have seen the "Just Two Guyz" video... and I thought a couple things in the "Lazy Sunday" video look familiar, thought they were referencing it, but I guess its the same dudes.
You non-SNL-TiVo-ers really oughta grab the torrent of the Dane Cook episode from a couple of weeks ago. You only need to watch up until WU, but it was definitely one of the more solids run of sketches they've had in the last few years. There was a fun (but more subtle) SNL Digital Short up in that episode as well.
Please note that you will end up (-3) Cross/Oswalt Hip Points by enjoying the Cook monologue and shenanigans. But you will also end up with (+5) Energy Points!
In the year-end EW issue, Gillian Flynn declares the Dane Cook SNL episode to be one of the five worst television offerings of 2005 (joining the likes of Taradise). I guess she didn't watch much of the show this season.
Totally hilarious! I made some graphics "inspired by" though not exactly, like the ones in the clip (couldn't find that exact Mr. Pibb can or the exact cupcakes, but the cupcake in my graphic is one from the Magnolia Bakery, so it's genuine!).
